“Uncovering Ghadeer Khumm: The Historical Truth” is a historical documentary series that examines the momentous event of Ghadeer Khumm. This series explores the historical dimensions of Ghadeer with the help of distinguished scholars from Islamic seminaries and academia, while addressing related questions and misconceptions through historical evidence and reasoned analysis. Part 5 of the documentary explores how the ceremony of congratulations and the pledge of allegiance to Imam Ali (AS) took place following his appointment by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) at Ghadeer Khumm. It also examines the third verse of Chapter Al-Ma’idah, commonly known as the “Verse of the Completion of Religion,” and addresses an important question: Why is the event of Ghadeer Khumm regarded as the point at which Islam was perfected and Allah’s blessings upon the Muslims were completed?
